Boxing is a great workout and lots of fun! These classes give you an awesome cardio workout, with the added benefit of upper body toning.

Because we are continuously moving the body, working against resistance, and utilising both the upper and lower body, you will burn loads of calories!

Majority of the focus is on the upper body, so if you have an ankle or knee problem, boxing is a great way to keep fit! It gets your sweating without the pain, impact or risk of further injury to the lower body associated with most other cardio workouts like running, walking and cycling.

Safely punching your partners pads, you will feel tough and it is a great stress reliever. If you have never had the pleasure of putting your body weight behind your punch, I urge you to come along. You will be suprised how enjoyable it is and how much better you will feel for it!

The class is suitable for everyone over 16 and you will be pleasantly suprised that it isn’t full of Mike Tyson like heroes! It always amazes me how much women enjoy coming along to throw some punches and share some goss!

We use basic combos and drills, some circuit work, body weight exercises and running intervals to give you variety and a whole body challenge. Beginners we will spend time with you explaining technique, while those more experienced can get on with their workout, feeling safe and monitored. Relax, there won’t be any fancy footwork or 16 punch combos to memorise.

Most of the class is partner based using gloves, focus mitts and pads, but you do not need to bring your own partner. You will be paired up based on size, power and experience and we incorporate a lot of circuit work so you get to box against a range of people. You may even get the chance to fight/belt up the trainers!

These classes are held outside in the shade if weather permits, or outside on the back deck in hot or wet conditions.

Boxing class times are:

Mon – 5pm Boxing Bootcamp with Amy – This will include more interval running, body weight exercises and cardio drills than other boxing classes and may use other equipment including weights and medicine balls.
